As the importance of responding to climate change and energy security increases, nuclear power is once again drawing attention as a low-carbon base load power source. In particular, the structural increase in electricity demand driven by the rapid growth of the artificial intelligence, data center, and semiconductor industries, the intermittency of renewable energy, and global supply chain uncertainties are acting as major factors re-emphasizing the strategic value of nuclear power. This paper aims to suggest directions for the development of the nuclear power industry by comparing and reviewing recent policy changes in major nuclear-owning countries and examining the competitiveness of the domestic nuclear industry and case studies of its industrial ecosystem.

기후변화 대응과 에너지 안보의 중요성이 증대됨에 따라 원자력발전은 저탄소 기저전원으로서 다시 주목받고 있다. 특히 인공지능, 데이터센터, 반도체 산업의 급속한 성장에 따른 전력 수요의 구조적 증가, 재생에너지의 간헐성 문제, 그리고 글로벌 공급망 불확실성은 원전의 전략적 가치를 재부각시키는 주요 요인으로 작용하고 있다. 본 논문은 최근 주요 원전 보유국의 정책 변화를 비교·검토하고 국내 원전산업의 경쟁력과 산업 생태계 사례를 중심으로 고찰하여 원전산업의 발전 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
