Despite the experience of exporting nuclear power plants to the UAE, the nuclear power industry has been shrinking due to the denuclearization policy of the previous administration. In this context, it is important for Korea to maintain the current nuclear power industry value chain, continue to strengthen its competitiveness through continuous technological development, and apply the latest technologies. This will help to build a safe and reliable nuclear power system and maintain the competitiveness of the Korean nuclear power industry. Korea's nuclear power plant construction competitiveness is superior to that of other nuclear power plant construction countries, so it is important to ensure that this nuclear power industry competitiveness is maintained. The 10th Basic Power Plan, which has been established, has predicted a low power demand and the absence of new nuclear power plant construction, which has raised concerns about the revitalization of the nuclear power industry through continuous nuclear power plant construction. To address these concerns, we propose the policy to activate the Korean nuclear power industry by prioritizing nuclear power plant construction with a cycle of about 3 years, nuclear power exports (including localization), and the development of the latest nuclear power technology.
